NEWS FROM MRS. HUGHES


Religion- Our test on the Ten Commandments is tomorrow.
We will work on the two chapters on the commandments.  Next we will return to chapter 11 on the liturgical year.  The children will begin practicing for the Christmas program

Reading- This week we're having literature groups in which the students will read four different groups. The story we are reading is "The Patchwork Quilt". Our read aloud lately has been The Indian in the Cupboard which everyone is enjoying.
Math -The class is working on subtraction with regrouping.
We will work on the 4X tables this week. A test  is planned on
Friday.

Science - We are working on thesun, moon planets and other topicson the  Solar System.
Reminders-The children may do a project related to a their Native American Indian report for extra credit.  I hope your child is using the planning papers to help with the
writing project. The children will share their reports and projects on Thursday with our classmates and on Friday with second grade and possibly the  other third grades

We have a short field trip coming up on the 29th of  November to go see a fantastic creche
exhibit.  The church off Univisity a block from where the SouthGlenn Mall was. We visit there for about an hour.  More informatiion will go home soon.
