*Ten Ways to Help Organize Your Child*

***Here are some strategies that you can use to help your child get, and keep  organized. Developing good organizational skills is a key to success in school and life.
 
 
.*Use checklists. Make a “to do” list to remind you of materials and assignments. to bring to school.
.*Organized homework in a quiet place with few distractions, not necessarily a bedroom.. Set a designated study timeline.hool and in life
.
.*Start with the easiest assignment first. Begin long-term projects as soon as they are given.
  .* Some children need to unwind, before beginning homework, study or reading time.  Let your child be involved in choosing the time for it on a regular basis.

.*Keep materials for school organized. This will help in getting assignments in on time, studying for tests.
.*Conduct a weekly clean up. Clean out the backpack with your child.
Successfully completed test papers and other special papers should be filed. Papers needing improving should be redone and sent back to school. Throw out papers not needed...
.*Create a household schedule. The routine of having a regular dinnertime and bedtime will help your child.
.Keep a master schedule.  Make a calendar of family commitments, extra curricular activities and long term assignments and test dates.
  . .*Prepare for the day ahead. Before your child goes to bed, he/she should pack his book bag with all assignments needed for the next day.  Laying  out  clothes, shoes and socks should make the morning easier. Pack your homework at night.
.*Provide needed support while your child is learning to be organized. Your third grader is still in a primary grade, with your help he/she will become more organized on his/her own.
