See - Look at the Word
Hear - Say the word aloud.
Adopt - Close your eyes and spell the word.
Record - Cover the word and write it.
Proofread - Check the word.

Write each word five times with nice writing and spacing.
Write the words in alphabetical order.

Write a sentence with one or two words.

Illustrate the words.

Write the opposite or plural of the word.

Type the words of the computer and print. 

Write the words in pudding, shaving cream, sand, pipe cleaners, toothpicks or salt.

Use Alphabits or ABC macaroni.

 Paint your words using Q-tips and water or watercolors, crayons or markers.

Use flashcards of the words


Use magnetic letters.

Write the words in order of easy to most difficult.

Create a crossword puzzle using the words.

Make a word search using the words.

Have someone scramble the words. Then you can unscramble them.

Write each word on two index cards and play concentration.

Use scrabble tiles to spell the word and give yourself a score.

Add up the number on the phone dial for  each word.

Take a practice test.

Write a story with the words.

Write the words in glue and sprinkle Jello on the glue. Scratch and sniff spelling.

Write the words on adding machine tape.

Put finger paint in a Ziploc bag and trace.

Record the words in a tape recorder. Listen to the tape.

Know what each word means.

Spell out a word using Scrabble tiles
 

Write the letters on individual pieces of paper, have your child put the pieces together to form the words.
 

Form the shapes of the letters of the words using Cheerios
 

Use the "cheerleader" method ex... give me a "d"...give me an "i"...give me an "g"......what does that spell?  dig!
 

Do a magazine or newspaper search for the entire word or just the letters of that word
 

Write some words on a separate piece of paper and have your child put them in alphabetical order
 

Write a word using different spellings and have your child pick out the correct one....ex...dig, deg, dig
 

Take your turn, have your child choose a word and you write it.  Let your child check it.
