Great
Parenting
Information
I believe
that being a parent is one of the most important
responsibilities that you will ever assume inlife. As
parents, you are
caretakers, providers, teachers, counselors, mentors, coaches, and
lifelong
friends. Each
of these roles is important,but
perhaps the most important is the parental role of teacher. You are the
first and most influential teacher your children will ever have.
What a
Child Learns
If
a
child....
If a child
lives
with criticism,
he
learns to condemn.
If
a child lives
with hostility,
he
learns to fight.
If
a
child lives with ridicule,
he
learns to be shy.
If
a
child lives
with shame,
he
learns to feel
guilty.
If a
child lives with
tolerance,
he
learns to be patient..

If
a child lives with
encouragement,
he
learns to be
confident.
If a
child lives with
praise,
he
learns to appreciate.
If
a child lives with fairness,
he
learns justice.
If
a
child lives with
security,
he
learns to have faith.
If a
child lives with
tolerance,
he
learns to be patient.
If
a child lives with
encouragement,
he
learns to be
confident.
If a
child lives with
praise,
he
learns to appreciate.
If
a child lives with fairness,
he
learns justice.
If a
child lives with
security,
he
learns to have faith.
If a
child lives with
approval,
he
learns to like
himself.
If
a child lives with
acceptance and friendship,
he learns to find love
in the world.
A BUTTERFLY IN THE
WIND
A child is...
A butterfly in the
wind,
Some can fly higher
than others;
but each one flies the
best it can.
Why compare one
against the other?
Each one is different!
Each one is special!
Each one is beautiful!

Which
Parent Will I
Be?
“I got
two
A's,”
th small boy cried,
his
voice was filled with glee
His
father very bluntly asked,
“Why
didn't you get three?”
"Mom
I've got the dishes done"t
he
girlcalled from the door.
Her
mother very calmly said,
“Did
you sweep the floor?”
I've
mowed the grass,” the tall boy said,
“and
put the mower away.”
“Did
you clean off
the clay?”
The
children in the house next door
seem
happy and content.
The
same thing happened over there,
and
this is how it went:"
I
got two A's," the small boy cried,
his
voice was
filled with glee. H
is
father
very proudly said,
"I'm
glad you
belong to me.!
"Mom,
I've
got the dishes done,"
the
girl
called from the door.
Her
mother
smiled and solftly said,
"Each
day I
love you more""
I've
mowed the grass,"
he
tall boy said, "
and
put the mower away."
His
father answered with much joy,
You
've made my day happy."
Children
deserve a little praise
or
tasks they 're asked t o do.
If
they're to lead a happy life, So much depends on you.

I’d build
self-esteem
first, and the house later.
I’d finger
paint more,
and point the finger less.
I would do
less
correcting and more connecting.
I’d take my
eyes off my
watch and watch with my eyes.
I would care
to know less
and know to care more.
I’d take more
hikes and
fly more kites.
I’d stop
playing serious,
and seriously play.
I’d run
through more
fields and gaze at more stars.
I’d do more
hugging and
less tugging.
I’d see the
oak tree in
the acorn more often.
I would be
firm less
often, and affirm much more.
I’d model
less about the
love of power,
and
more about the power of
love.

Children
Live
You may not find
things all in place,
Friend, when you
enter here,
But, we're a home where children live,
We hold them very dear.
And
you may find small fingerprints
And smudges on the wall.
When the kids are gone, we'll clean up
Right now we're playing ball.
For
there's one thing of which we're sure
These children are on loan.
One day they're always underfoot,
Next
thing you know, they're gone.
That's when we'll have a well-kept house,
When theyre off on their own.Right now, this is where children live,
A loved and lived in home.
